happy new year!

I have decided to start blogging again! I originally started it to keep in touch with everyone when I moved back to New Zealand. But whenever I stumble across it, I remember so many little things I forgot over the years and it always makes me smile. So I wanted to start it up again to have a way to capture all the little day to day things and maybe help in keeping with some New Years resolutions!

I thought I would start off with a games of Highs and Lows that my sister Katie likes to play - not to be confused with the drinking game High or Low. In this game, you name a few of your "highlights" and a few of your "low points" for the year. So here goes!

highs
  • I was the maid of honor in my sister Krissy's wedding this year. It was so much fun to throw her a bridal shower / bachelorette party! It definitely was an honor to be asked and be there for all the little details and the planning along the way.
  • I got a new job! I did love my old job and was really sad to leave, but it was a new opportunity for me and it's been fun getting more responsibility. I love my new coworkers and I was able to quit waitressing this year to have more time for myself.
  • We welcomed a new edition to the family - my nephew Nolan! And even though he is #11, I couldn't imagine our family without him now.

lows
  •  My roommates all moved away, on to bigger and better things - and while I am excited for them, I do miss them!
  •  I got into a car accident while driving back to Boston after the holidays - it was a really scary experience, but luckily I wasn't hurt and no one else was hurt either!

That's it for now! I still have to nail down some New Years resolutions (which should probably involve less food, more working out, less Netflix, more productive activities...) so more on that later.

And Happy New Year!
